Matthew 5:14-16 CSB – You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

1 Corinthians 16:13, 14 CSB – Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong. Do everything in love.

Be Alert

Alert soldier v. sleeping security guard

1 Thessalonians 5:6 CSB – So then, let us not sleep, like the rest, but let us stay awake and be self-controlled.

1 Peter 5:8 CSB – Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.

Stand Firm in Faith

Ephesians 4:14 CSB – Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit.

Know the Bible

2 Timothy 2:15 CSB – Be diligent to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth.

Be Confident in Christ

2 Corinthians 3:4 CSB – Such is the confidence we have through Christ before God.

Keep the BIG Picture Perspective

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 CSB – Therefore we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day. For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Be Courageous

Find Strength in Community

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 CSB – Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their efforts. For if either falls, his companion can lift him up; but pity the one who falls without another to lift him up. Also, if two lie down together, they can keep warm; but how can one person alone keep warm? And if someone overpowers one person, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not easily broken.
